It’s completely unacceptable that our leaders cannot legislate a budget without shutting down the government first. That is, if you can call it a shutdown. There are so many exemptions—so many who will continue to get paid—that the only real sacrifice here is that of hard-working employees across America. God knows, the politicians will continue to get paid. Take that away and you would see some action on the budget very quickly!
If a shutdown was really a shutdown–with no one exempted–there would never be a shutdown. That’s my point. If you are going to shut down the government, shut down everyone in government.
